About

Francis E. Salazar D.O., M.P.H.

Internal Medicine and Pediatrics

Dr. Salazar has been an asset to South Florida for more than 30 years.  Originally migrating from Trinidad & Tobago to pursue his University education.  His core principles encourage him to commit to a life of "Service, Character and a Sound Work Ethic."  These strong attributes were acquired from his mother and grandmother , and for those that know him personally are quite endeared to him.  Dr. Salazar's attributes that define his character are not confined to his professional career but also on a personal level as he places a high value in giving back to the community.

Having held himself accountable to his own ideals forced him to ask the question, "What better way to empower people than improving their health and outlook on life?"  The result led to him having graduated the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science after which he was recruited for a research position at the University of Miami School of Medicine.  Shortly after he matriculated to Barry University where he received his Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences.

His journey then led to Nova Southeastern University's College of Osteopathic Medicine where he earned his Doctorate of Medicine and a Master of Public Health Degree.  Dr. Salazar considers his participation in the Ryan White project for Broward County which provides essential support services, and medications for low-income people living with HIV who are uninsured and under-served as the pinnacle of his career.  Committed to a life of growth Dr. Salazar entered the University of Illinois College of Medicine as a faculty member in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics; he later completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Broward Regional Medical Center.

Known as a compassionate physician he has received many accolades in clinical research, patient care and volunteer service along with multiple Patient Satisfaction Awards in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics namely at OSF St. Francis, Miami Project to Cure Paralysis Award, and the US Navy's Achievement Outstanding Volunteer Service and Meritorious Service Medals.

He enjoys photography, cooking, gardening and family.
